In the pure light of gallery spaces, where the eye lingers and silence reveals form, art finds its most essential expression.
With locations spanning Paris, New York, Luxembourg, Tokyo, Saint-Étienne and Geneva, Galerie Ceysson & Bénétière has established itself as a leading force in the contemporary art world, championing artists whose work leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.
It is within this demanding artistic landscape that La Maison de la Maille developed a collaboration inspired by the works of La Maison de la Maille, autour des œuvres de Claude Viallat Floquet and Orlaniconic figures whose creative practices are distinguished by their freedom, boldness and expressive power.
Drawing from these original artworks, knitwear becomes a new medium of interpretation.
Compositions, lines and contrasts are carefully translated into bespoke throws crafted from extra-fine merino wool, where every colour and every form acquires a new dimension.
The textile does not reproduce the artwork : it extends it.
The material introduces a different kind of vibration.
Softer, more fluid and almost in motion, it transforms the way the work is perceived, inviting a more intimate and sensory experience.
Between artwork and object, between creation and everyday use, these pieces challenge traditional boundaries.
They bring the artwork beyond the wall and into daily life, while preserving its original strength and identity.
A meeting of two creative languages.
A sensitive translation of art into material.
A work to be experienced as much as it is to be contemplated.
